Love this. I propose Maoism is The Beast in current form. The late David Martin Jones (Kings College) co-wrote The Strategy of Maoism in the West and he describes the Beast. Not being an intellectual, the first half of the book on the philosophers that contributed to the spread of this evil was a painful read, but worth it. The rest of the book describes how it has manifested today. To fight evil one must recognize evil.
Jesus warns that there will be plenty of false prophets along the way. That's why we stay provisional and make room for dress rehearsals while at the same time calling out the evils and falsehoods. I can definitely see Maoism at work in Western red movements -- cultural revolution with plenty of participation by the immature and uninformed.
